JAPANESE CULTURE – Shichi-go-san

– Nov 1, 2020 –

During Shichi-go-san celebrations children wear kimono and go to a shrine. At that time, they hold in their hands a Chitose-ame, which is a candy representing the child’s wish for a long life of good health. The official day of Shichi-go-san is November 15th, but in modern times, to avoid congestion at a shrine and to make it easier for parents’ schedules, it’s most popular to choose a good day from the latter half of October to the beginning of December to pursue the Shichi-go-san ceremony.
